Fish & Lantern v.s.Chinese New Year

The word “fish” in Chinese pronunciation is

the same as the word “surplus”. 
.
To gain safety and luck, Chinese people especially during

the new year will speak of good words and 

get red envelope from the adult. 

Fish is every family must eat on new year’s eve,

it symbolizes the coming new year will be better.

This is the sea bass with salt and pepper,

steamed for 10 minutes, and then put on

some lemon slices, chili, green onion,

coriander, pepper, with few garlic thin slices.


Seasoned and mix with red snapper,

this is the fish I made often.
Put into boiling water for several minutes, seasoned and mixed with lime leaves, lime juice,

salt, pepper, chili.Salmon with onion and capperi is my most frequent favorite dish.

Year ends with ample surplus is just a saying,

a good saying with a fish can bring people the power.

In the same time with this Chinese New Year,

I also through the fish pronunciation to wish all

the bloggers a very ample surplus year,

good health with good fortune,

and wish all the Chinese friends

a very happy Chinese Lantern Festival,

which is a Chinese traditional festival.

It celebrates on the fifteenth day of the first month

according to Chinese lunar calendar, after this day,

previous year is over, new prospects are coming.

Before & After

A basket of vegetable and garlic bulbs in this sunset corner.

This is a corner of the house which has been lived for 11 years.

The polite and gentle landlords always want to spice up this

stripping corner to make it fresh and

new under not much renovation budget.

Under budget constraints,

I suggested only to remove previous loose paint and

old impurities from the wall surface, repair the gap, and

paint by emulsion paint. After changed to blue color,

isn’t it look nicer?

Hang soaps with faucet,

so it won’t be alone under the sun and wind blows, and

let water sprinkling can to be a guest as well.

Replace by a basket of organic liquid hand soap

if like it to add in more colors to this corner.

Keep the small scale soaps in a box and squeeze

into any shape, let it drip dry under the sun,

it will be another soap bar.

Hang the liquid soap here,

will be no longer black and white.

A little change made in life creates a energetic spirit.

Happy New Year to all bloggers! Have a great 2008!

This is Jumeirah Hotel’s Architecture, Dubai. I like Arabian architecture design,

 the combination of western and eastern.

I wish everyone in every different culture and place have a good time

 in new year and, to everybody who’s reading.

 many blue and red colors in Dubai, they are well combined.

Next picture is Burj Al-Arab Hotel, Dubi.

Perfect graceful golden color blends gorgeous luxury.

 

My new year’s holiday began from Dec.28, 2007,

until back to work again tomorrow, this is the longest holiday in recent years.

Today must concentrate and let my heart come back.

 

I made this home-made mix fruits salad,

various color bring in good mood.

Tomorrow must wake up early to go to work,

must have new hard working spirit in a new year!

 

Still, encourage myself to have confidence in whatever situation when face,

moreover, work hard and hard!

Twirling time—–New Year of mine.

Every time from plane takes off and lands,  there’s different mood.

No matter if it’s happy, lonely, going back home, or traveling,

we have to live our life day by day,

life eventually back to the origin.

No matter where we spend our new year,

new year is just a few days, but a year is 365 days.

Everyday I must have happy mood and traveling spirit.


Sometimes, people’s mind change with the people and

the surrounded environment.

During the new years in Dhahran,

all ladies in the compound traveled abroad for holidays.

Americans and Canadians flew back to North America.

Lebanese went back to Beirut. Only a few and me had not yet departing for new year’s journey,

felt like myself had been forgotten by myself in a corner of the world.

After the new year, everybody came back and we exchanged gifts.

Most people said they were so tired and so nice to come back.

Thus, another year began.

Among those, also a few people said they didn’t want to come back,

it would be so nice if they could travel everyday.

Use to have had countdown dinner and right after flew to another country.

Also used to pick up friends from the airport in the last hour of the year,

and after arrived the hotel lobby, we saw many many people were happily having gala dance just right before the countdown.


 


Once was sick during the New Year and took rest at home and watched TV,

thought in mind that staying at home saves quite some money.

Taking rest with money save isn’t bad, just a little bit lonely.

 No matter where we spend our new year, new year is just a few days,

but a year is 365 days. Everyday we must have happy mood.

New Year’s resolution.

Xmas has just gone, here come the New Year.

Just finished eating the Xmas cake, as if the sweet chocolate hasn’t melt.

The most excited thing is to appreciate and to taste cakes in Xmas season.

This year, this is extremely beautiful, white chocolate made to be the half shell shape,

with santa thick chocolate melted in my mouth right away.

Wishing the coming new year will be better than this year.

Wishing the coming new year everybody will be healthy.

Though happiness cannot be measured.

As long as everyone with peaceful mind,

do well on what has to do, to me this is happiness Indeed,

to have more wealth and able to help the needed people and self,

this is the greatest happiness.
